HTML Structure

Now let us take a look at a simple example of an HTML heading tag.

h1 denotes the start of the tag, then followed by the content, and then the closing tag. In HTML, the tags are surrounded by the content.

The HTML contains two parts the head and the body. The root tag of the HTML document is <HTML>.

• The head part includes the title of the web pages. If the styles and presentation are specified in a separate CSS file, then one needs to include the add the external link in the head section.
• The body section includes all tag elements that are used to display the content of the webpage. For example, the tag to add text, links, images, and so on.

In the above code, the body part contains the heading tag and a link specified using the anchor tag.

What is XML?

XML is also a markup language. It stands for eXtensible Markup Language. The web applications or web pages created using XML are dynamic as they can transport the data.

XML  is not used to display the data. The main goal of the XML language is generality and simplicity, and the text data format is supported in a different language using Unicode. The XML codes are written in a file with .xml extension. Other notable facts include:

• XML stores the data in a plain text format. This makes the retrieval process simpler compared to the retrieval process from the databases.  Compared to other languages XML is popular as its focuses on the data rather than data presentation.

• XML is hardware and software independent; this enables the user to share data between the systems with different software and hardware configuration. The system with any configuration and in any language can process and read the XML document.

• XML language is extensible. The user of XML can create their self-descriptive tags in any language based on the requirement of their project. The main feature of XML is, that it is compatible with machines, which makes the data accessible to people with disabilities.

The Structure of XML

The root tag of the XML document is , and the tags of the XML are enclosed within the angular brackets. It allows the user to define their self-descriptive tags.

HTML vs XML

In the above code, the developer created the tag to store the contact info of the developer. It includes address, name, college, and mobile number information. An pplication developed using  XML is portable and it is compatible with the language JAVA.

As the code length is longer the file size is very large. This results in a high cost of transportation and high storage space as the syntax of the XML tag is redundant.

HTML vs XML – The Differences

Now let us take a look at the difference between HTML and XML.

• Tags and Case:

The hypertext markup language is case-insensitive, whereas XML is case-sensitive. The developer needs to ensure the self-descriptive tags are case-sensitive. HTML has built-in tags to construct web pages. In XML, based on the requirement of the project, the user can create self-descriptive tags.

• Usage:

The main use of HTML is to create a web page structure and display the data. The main use of XML is to share or transfer the data and store the data in plain text format rather than the database.

• Handling Errors

In an HTML file, if there are minor errors it is ignored by the browser and the application runs successfully.  If the error is present in the XML file, then the developer needs to debug the code as it disrupts the data transfer or data storage. In HTML, white spaces are not allowed, whereas XML accepts white spaces in the code.

• Nesting

In the HTML if the tags are not nested properly, it does not cause any major errors. In XML, the tags need to be nested properly or else it causes major errors. In HTML, all tags have a closing or end tag. In XML, some of  the tags <img>,<br> do not have a closing or end tag.

• Support and Mapping

HTML provides support to the objects by default. In XML, to use objects in the code, the developer needs to express the objects by using attributes. In HTML, the data is mapped directly with the web application. To map XML data to the web application the developer needs to work separately.

• Learning

Compared to XML, HTML is easy to learn as it does not require any additional technologies to be learned. To write code in XML, the developer needs to have basic knowledge of technologies like XML DOM, Schema, and XPath as it helps to format and parse the data.

Both the markup language XML and HTML are related to each other, as they are developed from the Standard Generalized markup language. Though HTML is used to display the data and XML to store and transfer the data, both markup languages have a different working processes.

To parse code that is written JavasScript HTML does not require any additional parser. Whereas XML needs Document Object Model to parse and map the data. It is essential to learn both XML and HTML as both serve the integral and structural parts of the application or website.

What is Java?

Java is an object-oriented programming language introduced with the feature of "write code once, and run the program anywhere." The applications written in Java are compiled to bytecode that runs on Java Virtual Machine. As a result, the machine installed with Java Virtual Machine can run the Java code. The syntax of Java is similar to the programming language of C++ and C.

Compared to other languages, Java is secure. It does not allow unauthorized access to functions and data, as it has built-in variables and private methods. Java is also a multithreaded language, as it can run multiple tasks simultaneously. It is mainly designed to build object-oriented applications. Java is network-centric. Therefore, it facilitates distributed computing.

Compared to Javascript, the application designed by Java executes faster, and the performance is fast. In Javascript, the validation is executed at run time, which makes it slow in performance.

• Concurrency

In Java, concurrency is supported by threads, whereas in Javascript, concurrency is achieved using events.

• Model

The syntax of Java is similar to C and C++. The syntax of Javascript is the same as C, but the naming convention is similar to Java.

The application designed using the Java programming language must be compiled and interpreted. The code of Javascript is in standard or plain text format that does not require compilation. Compared with Javascript, Java is a dynamic language that is in Java. All the libraries, objects, and methods are dynamically linked in Java. Therefore, Java is an extensible language. It supports various functions written in other languages, such as C++ and C.

C# programming language is a multi-paradigm. The syntax of C# is expensive. The syntax is similar to other languages like Java, C++, and C. C# language has rectified many complex problems of C++. It also includes many additional features: direct memory access, lambda expression, enumerations, and null value types.

Features of C#

The language C# is based on the current trend and is simple as it has a structured approach with a rich set of data types and library functions. The type-safe code of C# can alone access the location of the memory. Using C#, the developer can develop more scalable applications using predominant software development methods. The time taken for execution and compilation of C# is faster.

Structure of C#

The above code prints the statement C# in the output screen. The system namespace is used in the program—the statement Console.Writeline prints the message on the screen. C# is case-sensitive; hence, all the expressions and statements need to be terminated with the semicolon.

Advantages of C#

The main advantage of C# is it supports the concept of polymorphism, encapsulation, and inheritance. The XML documentation inline comments are supported. The disadvantages of C# are as follows:

Javascript vs. C#

• Language

JavaScript is designed by Brendan Eich, whereas Microsoft designs C#. JavaScript is an object-oriented language, whereas C# is a type of safe-object-oriented programming language.

JavaScript supports the generic lambda, whereas C# does not provide generic and lambda support. Operator Overloading cannot be achieved in C#. JavaScript support operator overloading.

• Code Editor

The C# code is edited in the integrated development environment named Visual studio. Sublime, Notepad, and Notepad ++ are used to edit the JavaScript code.

• Syntax

The syntax of JavaScript is based on HTML. Hence, it is more complex and needs high maintenance. C# command is easier to learn, and the use of syntax is simple when compared to JavaScript.

• Service

The main task of the programmer is to maintain the code as it is related to the language simplicity and language that the code uses. Javascript is dynamically typed, whereas C# is a static type. Compared to C#, JavaScript's entire code needs to be examined to fix or update the bug. In C#, it is easy to identify and fix the errors.

• Error identification

The programmers can only identify the errors in the JavaScript code once it is complete. The error can be identified during the program execution. In C#, the developers can detect the error when they write the code, and changes can be made at any time.

• Data type

JavaScript does not support integer and array data types. C# support both array and integer data type.

Cryptography Algorithm

Cryptographers use the cryptography algorithm to secure the data. There are three types:

The symmetric key is also known as secret or private. One of the standard methods used is the Advanced Encryption System. This is faster and simpler compared to other techniques. Here, the primary step is to securely share the same key between the sender and the receiver.

A few types of symmetric key cryptography:

• Block Cipher
• Data Encryption System
• Stream Cipher
• Blowfish

Asymmetric Key Cryptography is also known as a public key. In this method, the messages between the sender and the receiver are transformed by various methods in a protected way. This method uses two keys: one is private, and the other is public.

Both keys are used in the encryption and decryption process. The private key is kept secret, and the public key is shared. The most common cryptography is the Rivest-Shamir-Adleman encryption algorithm.

A few types of asymmetric key cryptography:

• Elliptic curve techniques
• Digital Signature Algorithm
• Rivest-Shamir-Adleman

Hash Functions take the input as an arbitrary message length. The output is a fixed length with a hash function. The technique requires no key to encrypt and decrypt the messages. This method has various rounds that do hash operations, and each round takes input as an array, and the final output is generated in the last round.
