@Caroline – your grandfather had a lot of inadvertent networking opportunities! I hope to read the book soon…

Fun fact: my grandfather’s college roommate was one of the Gilbreth boys (I forget which one). His other roommate (different college) was Sam Walton!

Love this! I’m a planner and hate hearing my non-planner friends apologize for not planning. I think it’s all about acceptance for our strengths and weaknesses (and those of our friends). Let’s celebrate what everyone brings to the table.

@omdg – thanks! I’ve been hearing from a reasonable number of people who aren’t the planner…and are forwarding this to their planning friends. No one wants to be on the bad end of social chicken!

I have never known any of the cool places to go, or who to invite to things, and I am always sure nobody would come anyway. As a result I don’t plan… really ever. Even planning for my own family fun is a challenge for me.

Anyway, thank you for the article. Hopefully someone will read it and decide not to play chicken. 🙂
