@Jessica – a valid point! I was a bit surprised she was doing all her running at 4 a.m. too. I want to make sure everyone knows that if you want to get up at 4 a.m. to pursue your passions, that’s fine, but it’s also fine to pursue these things at other points of the day too. You don’t need to be with your kids every waking minute for them to be fine (and almost no one is with their kids every waking minute anyway, it’s just some reasons are viewed as more socially valid than others…)

I am an inpatient dietitian (which I love), mother of two, and previously pre-kids fast-ish runner, now working through realizing that I don’t go as fast anymore.

I appreciate you hosting an RD for the show as opposed to a self proclaimed nutritionist!

However, I was so dismayed when she said that the only way she can pursue her passion for running is to do it while her kids are asleep because “I won’t and I can’t make the time [for myself if it involves missing time with my kids].” She said verbatim, “I’m very much strapping myself to it has to be before my kids wake up in the morning because you need to be with your kids when they are awake.” That feels SO toxic. I was hoping that that priority stack would be interrogated a little more, but instead, it was accepted as normal and indeed aspirational.
