Three times a week feels attainable – and I love how once you give yourself permission to see 3/week as a habit, then you have so many possibilities for your identity: I’m a runner, a pianist (ok – I have to work on that one!), an attentive friend, etc.
As a retired person – this also sets me up to try new things in an organized way. I can try various things out 3 times a week for a few weeks and see if they “click”. It’s a substantive engagement (ie not just trying something once) with a realistic commitment (permission to stop after a few weeks if it’s not working).
And this one is so well integrated with the Plan on Friday – which I continue to struggle with. I WANT to plan on Friday afternoon – but then on Friday afternoons I forget or resist! But focusing on this 3 times a week pattern helps: scheduling my three times for the things I want to try is fun – so that makes planning more appealing.

I’d like 3x weekly couple hangouts that aren’t about kid logisitics, etc. Which I’ll aim for going forward. I travel 3-4 days a week, so it’s basically daily.
