I always hit a big consignment sale in March/April and make sure to get winter gear if they will need it. It was nice to have it all ready to go when it got really cold this weekend.

@Denise – I am so lucky that my boys are still in the stage when they are generally happy with what I bring home. I can shop for them and I know roughly what they like. So the two coats I bought were both hits.

I’ll add that those are Costco prices for the boys’ coats – that’s why we have the membership!

Those prices are unheard of in Canada. Today it is freezing and naturally my 15 year old son will not do any pre-planning. Nothing suits him, so today he went to school in a sweatshirt “sigh”. Maybe tonight he won’t be as picky when I take him out shopping. Shopping with a teenager is torture.
