@Bouchra- thanks! While I agree that one could see a spiritual aspect to it, in my mind, God helps those who help themselves, and we can’t just count on Him doing all the work. Whoever He’s brought to our lives, we have to roll up our sleeves and dig in too.

However, I enjoyed your review.

I’m much younger than you are, and certainly have no marriage experience yet, but I don’t believe that the odds of finding your soulmate are thin – I’m religious, and I believe that whoever comes into my life is brought into it by God for a reason, and I think that there is a time you’ll know that someone is the closest thing to a soulmate you’ll ever get, and that person may as well be your soulmate!

I don’t think everyone is that lucky to actually realize who their soulmate is, though. Some people give up on their relationships too early, or simply don’t open their minds to the thought of having a soulmate.

Congratulations on 12 years of marriage! May you have many more years filled with abundance and joy 🙂

Where’d You go Bernadette. It’s a funny quick read, but highly relatable to creative women. Especially mothers.

@Anne- thanks for posting your review, which led me to read it! Looking through old photos, I see he’s had several pairs of bad glasses over the years. Fortunately, he met me in a bar when he was wearing decent ones 🙂

Still laughing about your husband’s glasses. Glad that after 12 years you think he’s hot anyway. 🙂

We all live the “maybe not so happily ever after” part a lot longer than the “falling in love” part that features so predominately in so many books.

Thanks for sharing (I didn’t read the spoiler-y parts). We just celebrated 11 years this summer, and yeah, a lot rings true. The happily-ever-after moment is quite close to the beginning of the story

We live in a world where the only the best snapshots of life are plastered all over Facebook walls. It’s easy to fall into believing that we are the only family who has issues or a messy house. We’re celebrating 11 years of marriage in a couple of weeks and definitely have some rough patches (but thankfully no affairs).

Thanks for the suggestion!

I am more in the “follow your brain” than “follow your heart” camp when it comes to love life :). I don’t believe there is only one soul mate per person, but multitudes of people one can be compatible with and develop a special connection with (=soul mate).

Congratulations on 12 years of marriage!!! We’ll be celebrating 11 years in 2 weeks (and we’ve been together for nearly 16… If someone told me “this is your soul mate” 16 years ago, I would have been incensed).
