This is a habit I am trying to cultivate; I want to set examples for my children through my actions. I too have a vision of ‘my higher self’ and I have to keep reminding myself of what values are important to me and how do I demonstrate that in my life. I love how your simple phrase can cut through the superfluous… this is just what I needed to read today!

I’m going to try changing my phone’s wallpaper to a photo of “is it necessary?” and see what happens — maybe even changing the photo to the same words in a different style or color every now and then will nudge me not to ignore it when I get used to seeing it!
