Honestly, I think you should ship the big kids to your parents for 3 days and sleep train the heck out of the little guy. Buy him one of those toddler alarm clocks that turn colour when it’s time to get up, and then don’t go to him until 6 am earliest. It will take 3-4 horrible nights, and then you will get your life back. Even if he doesn’t sleep until 6, he will just learn that he has to play in his crib until then. This just doesn’t seem sustainable for you…(Of course, this is just my two cents’ worth – feel free to completely ignore :-))

@Yana – thank you! And yes, anything to make it a bit more enjoyable is good.

And yes, the coffee comment is good. Maybe I should start using cream too instead of milk. Those small things can make life so much better! Thank you for a good reminder to enjoy life with everything it brings.

@Stephanie – memory does tend to soften things a bit. Probably a human survival mechanism!

@MK – swimming pools are key in the heat. Definitely spring for the pass– that will be money well spent!

@Carrie- generally my thought too. Cream is good in coffee.

My husband (not a reader) is struggling right now with the stress of daily responsibilities. I can’t force him to enjoy the little things, but I’m trying to come up with ways to help him be a little happier and thankful.

You won’t rest easy until they get back home safe and sound. Interrupted sleep is part of motherhood.

This made me laugh. Hear, hear! In my world, there is never a time for skim milk. 🙂
