It was great! Unfortunately, I think it’s not translated into English yet (I guess 1300 pages takes some time to translate!).
Is everyone hanging out without me is kind of fun but not a masterpiece, I thought.

Far From the Tree (non-fiction)
The Goldfinch
And… a little embarrassed to say it… but Stephen King novels. The man is a master of compelling narrative, and he tends to write long. 11/22/63 (yes, Kennedy assassination, and much more) is SO MUCH FUN. Joyland is quirky though fairly short. And the whole Dark Tower series is weird and enthralling. Truly, if you haven’t tried Stephen King, just give it a shot. I’d start with 11/22/63.

@Kristen – I loved Tina Fey’s book. I found Poehler’s a little harder to get into.

I kept thinking ‘how is she doing that?!’ while reading. One of the most unusual while also compelling plot-wise books I’ve read.

I actually liked Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? even less in that regard – Kaling was younger when she wrote it and it definitely reads that way. I’d give it a pass if I were you!

Have you read Amy Poehler’s memoir? I found hers and Tina Fey’s a bit more relatable since they were both in the married with young kid(s) zone when they wrote them.
