Sounds like you guys had an amazing time!! When I let my then 6yo choose the agenda on our trip last summer, she picked some totally touristy, but really fun things I wouldn’t have otherwise tried. I love getting their perspective 🙂

I’m glad your son enjoyed it so much. Re perception of time, my husband and I took our three young (<5yo) kids on a day trip to Boston (two hours away). We hit the kids' museum (fantastic!), a restaurant, and a coffee shop before driving back home. When I looked at the clock when we got back to the car I couldn't believe that we had been in the city for only four hours – it felt like 10!

@Diana – I’m happy to hear he did well! Three can go either way. Sometimes they’re good…sometimes not. You seem to have a good traveler, so roll with it! Maybe Tuscany next?? 🙂

@Hilary- excellent! The Kindle app really is a game changer. It turns any headline-surfing moment into reading time.

We took our (3 year old) on his first trip to NYC last spring and he still talks about it and asks when we can go next. What special memories to share with your son!

I too was pleasantly surprised to greatly enjoy our first trip to Disney World last week with a 11 month old, 4 y.o., and 5 y.o. I want to thank you for bringing the Kindle phone app to my attention, with that I was able to read while sitting with a sleeping baby in Hollywood Studios!

@Daikuro- hopefully he’ll remember! Though to be fair, he’d probably remember fun times with his cat or dog too. They still really want a pet. I’m just the one who can’t deal with it.

It is these moments that he will remember when he grows old.
