@Yukun – that was a funny moment! But in general it is good to have an agenda for meetings – I totally agree with her on that.

I still haven’t figured out how is it that Ms. Laura Mae Martin didn’t have an agenda when coming on to this podcast, but, I think I’ll need to ask this last question to Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger via theshubox.com.

My workplace also has way less than 1 meeting per day.
There is something that I’ll need to discuss with you though, Ms. Laura Vanderkam. Which is where I’d prefer us sending emails back and forth or discuss things on LinkedIn once again. Since my understanding of career profiles also include where I foresee myself to be 3 or 5 years from now, I would like to discuss with you which of the things that I do right now actually contribute to my career profile, As long as I can direct message you.
In the meantime, when you mentioned “build your network”, I wonder how that takes place for me. At the end of the day, the company that I work at only has 2 staff members: Me and the other person. I don’t think you refer to my day-to-day tasks of serving my clients – which usually results in me keeping my clients’ contact info – as “building my network” either. I think there is something that you’ll need to figure out for me, Ms. Laura Vanderkam, that is, if I got to know someone only via phones, emails, video meetings, etc., but never saw him/her in person, am I “building my network”?
One more thing: You mentioned that Ms. Laura Mae Martin pointed out that she will never go to a meeting without an agenda, but when she came to this podcast, she did not really have an agenda. I get useful stuff out of this podcast all the time. But I’m wondering: When Dr. Sarah Hart-Unger explained that “This BOBW podcast is a high-profile podcast and hence Ms. Laura Mae Martin doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to get on this podcast”, did she mean that as a sarcasm?
